Histrionic Style

Our personality styles are expressed through our dress. In psychology we can refer to a number of personality disorder whereof Histrionic is one.

Histrionic is also referred to as the Drama Queen. Although all people on earth posses a degree of the traits associated with Histrionic personality disorder, the severity and amount of traits might earn you a diagnoses of histrionic personality disorder. This blog post however isn’t about the diagnoses of this personality disorder but rather the type of fashion style that will go along with these personality traits.

Histrionic traits include; being the centre of attention, provocative behaviour ( often in inappropriate situations), loves excitement, wears conversation starter. All aspects of her dress and make-up will be attention seeking.

As some of you might know, I am addicted to cake. Last week I saw some pretty cakes on pinterest and even saw the amazing rainbow cake.

But first I decided to make this little blue cake. I’ve never baked cake before except once I made a chocolate cake from a box. I wanted to make different coloured cakes before I made the rainbow cake. My first cake had to look something like this.

OK so I made the cake and poured white chocolate over it but the chocolate was too light and ended up looking really shitty. So this was my end result. It tasted great but didn’t look that great.

It was a little disappointing that it didn’t come out right but then my husband said to me ” you’ve never been good at baking”….

I think I’ll just stick to what I know, I have always said that the only thing I can cook well is salad…

Types of wedding bouquets

Nothing says wedding like flowers…The wedding bouquet is an extremely important wedding accessory. It adds colour to your wedding dress. It is the main prop in the bouquet throw and it gives the bride something to do with her hands on her big day.

When choosing a bouquet, there is a variety of shapes to choose from. You can choose between round, starburst, crescent, presentation, cascade, biedermeier or even a single flower depending on your own personal style and the style of your wedding.

Round

Originally referred to as the posies bouquet. This round bouquet is a traditional and simplistic yet elegant style.

Starburst

A cascading style bouquet made from stargazers and other lilies.

Crescent

Made in the shape of a crescent moon. The flowers are arranged to the outside of a round bouquet to create the crescent shape

Presentation

Refers to the type of flowers given at a presentation. It is arranged with longer flowers at the back and shorter flowers at the front.

Cascade

Also referred to as the shower bouquet, tail bouquet or the teardrop bouquet.

Biedermeier

Named after the German style of interior decorating is a round bouquet arranged in round rings of various flowers and colours.

Single Flower

Single flower bouquets are becoming more popular. Instead of a whole bouquet of flowers the bride may choose to have a single flower like a Protea or a peony

When working full time and having a family to feed, time isn’t always on your side. Very often the only thing you want to do when you get home after a hard day, is to sit down and relax. This post includes 5 healthy recipe’s that you can make in less than 30 minutes.

Broccoli Rabe and Sausage Parsnip Spiralized Pasta

INGREDIENTS:

1 bunch broccoli rabe, stems trimmed
2 links spicy Chicken Italian Sausage, casings removed
1/2 tsp dried oregano
2 parsnips, peeled and spiralized, noodles trimmed
2 cloves garlic, minced
1/4 tsp crushed red pepper flakes
kosher salt and black pepper
1/2 cup low sodium chicken broth
1/2 cup grated parmesan cheese

One Skillet Chicken with Bacon and Green Beans

INGREDIENTS:

4 strips center-cut bacon, chopped
1 pound boneless, skinless chicken breasts, cut lengthwise into thin cutlets
kosher salt
freshly ground black pepper
2 tablespoons minced shallot
2 cloves garlic, minced
¾ cup low-sodium chicken broth
½ cup crisp white wine, such as Sauvignon Blanc (use broth for Whole30 or Paleo)
1 teaspoon chopped fresh thyme
8 ounces French green beans

Grilled Scallop and Orange Kebabs with Honey-Ginger Glaze

INGREDIENTS

1 tbsp raw honey (I like to buy local)
1 large navel orange (or 2 small)
1 tbsp fresh grated ginger
oil for the grill
12 jumbo sea scallops, about 1lb
kosher salt and black pepper

Red White and Blue Fruit Skewers with Cheesecake Yogurt Dip

INGREDIENTS

For the cheesecake dipping sauce:

4 oz 1/3 less fat cream cheese, softened
1 cup fat free Greek yogurt
1 tsp vanilla
1/4 cup raw sugar

For the skewers:

14 oz angel foods cake, cut about 1-inch cubes
72-84 medium strawberries (about 3.5 lbs) stems removed
1 pint blueberries
24 to 28 skewers

BAKED POTATO SOUP

INGREDIENTS:

2 medium russet potatoes, washed and dried
1 small head of cauliflower (3 1/2 cups or 16 ounces), stem removed cut into florets
1 1/2 cups fat free chicken broth
1 1/2 cups 1% reduced-fat milk
salt and freshly cracked black pepper
1/2 cup light sour cream
10 tbsp reduced-fat shredded sharp cheddar cheese
6 tbsp chopped chives, divided
3 slices bacon, cooked and crumbled (you can use turkey bacon if you prefer)
