Bike Modifications

Hi guys!!! As you all know… we decided to buy motorcycles a few months ago. Since then my husband has really gotten exited about his bike and has made a few visual modifications. He hasn’t done anything to the engine yet but he has done quite a few regarding the graphics

This is what his bike looked like when he got it. It was already done up a little by the previous owner.

The first thing my husband wanted to change was the colour of the bike. He ordered custom graphics from Scrubdesignz. He sent them this pic that he kind of designed himself. He also changed the shrouts on the side of the bike as it had a few scratches.

He then sent it to Scrubdesignz indicating he colors he would like on the bike and this is what they sent him.

He then on and added some rim stickers,

brake and clutch lever,

hand guards and added some rear view mirrors.

Currently this is what it looks like now.

Hand-drawn Tattoo

In the beginning of this year I bought myself a man-doll, nudge-nudge, wink-wink. I couldn’t resist it he was just sooooo pretty. He’s a David Kuncci doll from Dollshe.

He had the prettiest feminine features and a gorgeous bod. Since I got him I body brushed him, giving him some more definition in his muscles.

I made him a wig,which I messed up a few times, and gave him gorgeous blue eyes.

At first I made him a warrior prince. I gave him leather pants and armour to make him look more authentic. I made his armour with fun foam in a similar way that I made Shava’s armour. I had to cover the foam with a few coats of acrylic paint and then added some detail with gold acrylic paint.

but because I was scared that the black fabric might stain his body I took his clothes off ( leaving him standing naked on my desk).

I eventually gave him some pants and after a while I thought that he needed something extra to make his body more beautiful. In the meanwhile I’ve been dabbling with those new inkbox tattoos on my own body and of course I thought a tattoo would look great on him.

It took me a while to do it because I wasn’t sure what to give him but after a few weeks he was done. I finished up the last of the tattoo last week.

I did it with Faber Castell watercolour pencils and coated it with Mrsuperclear. He’s definitely the prettiest doll I own.

Water-nymph Monster High Face-up

Hi guys, today I want to share my third monster high face-up with you. I’ve been having a lot of fun with the Monster High customs and I’m really glad that I started this hobby. I feel that with every doll I make, they seem to get better and better.

With the first one, I was really scared to do anything too drastic so I tried to keep everything simple. I asked my kids at school to name my first doll, and they decided on Cinnamon. They say that my name sounds like Cinnamon so the doll should be called Cinnamon…

With the second doll I tried to be a little more adventurous. Honestly I messed up her one eye because I wasn’t sharpening my pencils enough. She turned out pretty well for my second try, except for the one dodgy eye, I’ll attribute that to battle scars since she’s a warrior. I also tried making doll Armour, which I think turned out pretty well.

The third doll was supposed to be a water nymph. I planned on coloring her hair, since I’m to scared to do a re-root just yet, and give her minimum clothing so as to look like she emerged from the water. That, however didn’t turn out the way I planned. Firstly I struggled to color her hair. I watched a YouTube video where they colored the hair with acrylic paint and shaving foam…..

Needless to say, that didn’t work out as hoped and the colour washed out with the water when I rinsed her hair. I then decided to go with food colouring, which worked, but the colours weren’t dark enough so I added some extra colour with blue and purple sharpies.

Then came the outfit…. I wanted it to look something like this…

but after struggling too much to get the fabric I wanted I just decided on making her a forest fairy with blue and green feathers.

At the end I think she’s one of my prettiest dolls even though I thought she had a very broad face at first, she turned out pretty well 😀

Pre-Halloween Dress-up Party

Hey Everyone!!!!

So… we all know how the typical Halloween party usually goes. We’re required to wear costumes to look scary but mostly we end up with “sexy mushrooms” instead of a scary-ass monster.

My girls have decided to try out their Halloween costumes in a Pre-Halloween dress up Party.

The Zodiacs

These ladies decided to dress up as their favourite zodiac sign…. their version of it in anyway

Capricorn

She decided to go for a subtle white and do up her hair to kind of look like little horns. She thought that the whites would best suit her Capricorn traits of being ambitious, conservative, determined, practical and helpful. Although she didn’t account for her skimpy outfit not looking very conservative.

Sagittarius

Being a warrior at heart and fond of the Zodiac she decided to wear an archery outfit that would best exemplify the Sagattarian traits of being adventurous, optimistic and enthusiastic

The Warrior

Shava is wearing her warrior outfit. She usually wears this one all the time because its armoured and can protect her in any fight. Its also a nice colour and works well for Halloween

The Mythical creature outfit

Lagoona is wearing her favourite outfit – her Water-nymph dress. She has opted to go barefoot since no water-nymph can wear shoes under water.

The Oh I forgot Harley Quinn is sooooo last year

Cinnamon decided that she’s going to go as Harley Quinn since she’s blonde and none of her friends are wearing the same outfit

Overall it looks like the girls had a lot of fun socialising with each other.

5 Things to know before buying a Bike in Korea

So… I bought a bike. It all started with my husband buying one a few months ago so naturally if he can have one, I wanted one too :P. There are some things that I learned from his experience that helped me plan and budget before buying my own bike. My husband did a lot of research on his bike before purchasing it, but inevitably there will always be things the internet can’t tell you. Hopefully this post will help you decide whether a bike would be the right mode of transport for you here in Korea.

1.Buying a bike

If you are interested in buying a motorcycle in Korea, you’ll have a few options. First you can go the Bike street in Chungmuro. By subway you can go to Chungmuro walk east out of Exit 1 or 8. You’ll walk past a few petshops and then reach the bike shops. To be honest the internet made it sound much more amazing than it actually was, however I bought my bike there :). In addition you could have a look on bikepasso.co.kr. They have all kinds of bikes for sale on there. You can phone the sellers and arrange a meeting to view the bikes you are interested in. When you’re ready to buy a bike give the man his money and make sure that you receive 3 documents namely the 1. Certificate of Ownership (ingam jeungyeongso), 2. Title Transfer Form (yangdo jeungyeongso) and 3. Release of Ownership Letter (sayong peji jeungyeongso)source

2.Insurance

Before being able to register your bike on your name and get your licence plates you have to get insurance. It only covers the other person’s vehicle if you get in an accident with another car so don’t expect to claim insurance if your bike gets stolen. The insurance is mandatory and you can’t get your bike registered without it. For a first time vehicle user in Korea you will most likely pay 300,000 Korean won for the first year. The price goes down as you build experience in Korea. ( It doesn’t matter how long you’ve been driving in other countries) Also, you pay yearly and not monthly so make sure that you have the money for the insurance ready.

3.Bike registration fees

OK so now you’ve got your insurance paper. Now you can go to the vehicle registration department. Take your bike papers, your ARC card and proof of insurance with you. In addition you have to pay licensing fees that are supposed to be 5% of the bikes selling price but from experience I can tell you that this isn’t the case. My husband and I bought our bikes for more or less the same price. He has a 400cc Suzuki DRZ and I have a Honda CBR125r. He paid 300,000 Korean won ($300) for his registration and I only paid only 47,000 ($47). Evidently there is more at stake than just the price you paid for your bike but be prepared to pay at least 5%. There is also an additional 12,000 Won that you will pay to various agents within the registration department for example the number plate office.

In addition to this you have to pay taxes for your bike every 6 months. I’m not sure how true this is as I only had to pay taxes once so far but my husband seems to get an invoice every 3 months for taxes. I’m not sure if this is because of the size of his bike or what but it is curious….

4.Getting a motorcycle licence

The next step will be getting yourself to legally drive on Korean roads by getting a Korean drivers licence. Luckily this step isn’t too complicated but it will take some time to get everything you need. For a bike less than 125cc, you can just swap your drivers licence from your country of origin with a Korean drivers licence. To be able to swap your licence you’ll need your embassy to verify that your licence is legit. The embassy will just copy your licence, stamp and sign it. This is only a problem if you live far away from Seoul, and since the embassy is only open during the week you might have to take a day or a morning off from work. You then take your original licence, the certified copy and your ARC card to your local vehicle licencing department. At the licence department you’ll pay around 27,000-35,000 Won for everything. This includes an eye test and written theory test. If you’ve passed any kind of drivers licence theory test you should be OK on this as you only need to get a mark of 60 to pass.

If your bike is larger than 125cc, then you have to get a Korean motorcycle license. I explained how to do that here.
