Ghost Busters Slimer Cookie

This might need some more effort to make the shape just right but overall, you don’t need too many accessories for this one. The original recipe requires that you put green pudding inside the cupcake but if you fear that you might mess it up, then it’s not really neccessary as these cupcakes look great all the same.

Blue and Green Wedding ideas

The bouquet

The bouquet is always an important decision when it comes to wedding flowers. It is the brides main accessory. She can also add color to her traditional white or cream dress by having a colorful bouquet. Popular blue flowers include delphiniums and hydrangeas. You can get these in light and dark blues. Another option is the iris although it is more purple than blue. There are many other blue flowers to choose from but many of them will wilt within a few hours.

Entrance hall/Outside

High arrangement of delphiniums create an amazing effect. You can also add greens and other white flowers to make the blue pop. If you can’t find blue flowers during your wedding season then you could also add the color with ribbons, organza, feathers, colored vases or even colored water in the vase.

Reception

You have 2 options with the decor for a blue and green wedding. The first would be to do everything in white and only have a few colorful pieces. This will give it a simple but elegant effect. Secondly you could opt for one of the 2 colors and use the other color here and there to break the main color. Both these options are equally gorgeous depending on your own preference.

Cakes

For many years now, the traditional wedding cake has changed from traditional fruitcake to cupcakes or even macrons.Nowadays you even have the option of doing various colors inside your cake as well as choose different flavored icing.

Bridesmaids dresses

Here are some great ideas for different color bridesmaids dresses. Whether you choose emerald green or a baby blue, its all up to you. Its your special day after all.

The Wedding dress

Instead of the traditional white or cream wedding dress, designers like Vera Wang and Elie Saab have given us some beautiful light colored wedding dresses that make you look like a true princess at your fairy tale wedding.

Depressive Personality style

Unlike the histrionic and narcissist styles the depressive style isn’t in search or need of attention. On the contrary she wants as little attention as possible. She wears dark or neutral colours to go unseen. Her clothes often represent her gloomy mood.

Dark Makeup

Her dark makeup might be in the form of eye makeup

or even just darker than usual lips, or both

Lots of black

Neutral tones

The Depressive style is the Miss Doom and Gloom between all the personality styles. She wears her dark emotions on her clothes. We all go through periods in our life where the depressive style comes in handy but mostly this only lasts for a short period of time until we can get back on our feet again. Just as our emotions and personality traits influence our dress, so too does our dress influence our moods. Wearing too many outfits lacking in colour can make anyone feel a little depressed.

Do you know anyone with a Depressive style?

The perfect rainbow hair

For a while now I have been wanting to do something drastic to my hair. Throughout my adulthood my hair has mostly been light brown or dark blonde, which is practically the same colour. Sometimes I would to highlights in my hair and I’ve even done the ombre thing once. But basically my hair has always remained more or less the same shade. For about 4 years I’ve been thinking about colouring my hair red because it’s such a vibrant colour but I also know that the red washes out even if you colour it professionally.

I also quite like the idea of pastel or rainbow coloured hair. These ones are some of my favourites. You can read here about how they managed to get their lovely rainbow hair.

Since I am a teacher however I would not be able to go that drastic with my hair so I was thinking of sticking with a more natural colour and only colouring pieces of my hair. I Really like the blue….

I’ll be using Manic Panic as that seems to be the most effective semi-permanent color to use. Wish me luck !!!

Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar Children – Review

On Sunday afternoon I went to watch Miss Peregrines home for Peculiar Children. I wanted to watch it on Saturday  but for some reason it was’t showing at any of our cinema’s in our city.

I had no idea what to expect. The only thing I knew was that it was directed by Tim Burton, it’s based on a book by Ransom Riggs and Eva Green is Miss Peregrine. I haven’t read the books yet as I first wanted to see if I liked the movie before I buy any of the books.

The movie is about an ordinary boy who’s grandfather is murdered by a tall eyeless monster minutes before he arrives at his home. His grandfather tells him to follow the post card to 3 September 1943 and that the bird will explain everything….. The police classifies his grandfathers murder as a dog attack and says that he died from a heart attack. After having some difficulty with dealing with his grandfathers death, his father takes him to the island where his grandfathers was in an orphanage for peculiar children, to help him get some closure and this is where his adventure begins where he finds Miss Peregrines home set in a perpetual time loop on the 2nd of September 1943.

The movie is filled with weird and wonderful magical logic. The scenes were visually appealing and somewhat eerie with eyeless monsters, that reminds me of slender-man, a boy that puts animal hearts into weird and scary dolls and bad guys with white eyes and scary looking teeth.

Overall the movie was enjoyable and it provided the right amount of entertainment for a Sunday afternoon. At one point during the movie I wished that there would be more action as a lot of the first part of the movie dealt with the backstory and introduction of all the characters. The end fight provided a climatic battle that made the movie more worth while. I have to admit however that it wasn’t as good as any of the Harry Potter movies or Series of Unfortunate Events.

I give it a 6/10
