The perfect rainbow hair

For a while now I have been wanting to do something drastic to my hair. Throughout my adulthood my hair has mostly been light brown or dark blonde, which is practically the same colour. Sometimes I would to highlights in my hair and I’ve even done the ombre thing once. But basically my hair has always remained more or less the same shade. For about 4 years I’ve been thinking about colouring my hair red because it’s such a vibrant colour but I also know that the red washes out even if you colour it professionally.

I also quite like the idea of pastel or rainbow coloured hair. These ones are some of my favourites. You can read here about how they managed to get their lovely rainbow hair.

Since I am a teacher however I would not be able to go that drastic with my hair so I was thinking of sticking with a more natural colour and only colouring pieces of my hair. I Really like the blue….

I’ll be using Manic Panic as that seems to be the most effective semi-permanent color to use. Wish me luck !!!

Perfection is Key when it comes to a perfectionist style. Those with perfectionist traits like to follow the rules and be in control of themselves and their surroundings. You will not find a hair out of place with them. Everything is planned in an exact fashion… because everything has to be PERFECT.

We all have a little perfectionist hiding inside us, whether it is manifested in your hairstyle, nails or outfit. It is important to try and look your best. As long as it doesn’t interfere with your life. Enjoy being perfect.

Narcissistic Style

Narcissism comes from the Greek myth of Narcissus, a handsome young man who fell in love with his own reflection in a pond. He was unable to consume his love and lay next to the pond looking at himself until he turned into a flowers, the narcissus.

As part of my 5 series posts about how our personality traits influence our outfit choices, narcissism will be today’s topic of discussion. You can also have a look at what Histrionic Style looks like.

Having narcissistic personality traits includes a grandiose sense of self importance, fantasies of unlimited success, power beauty and ideal love, requires excessive admiration, sense of entitlement, arrogant, envious and lacks empathy for other.(DSM-5) Having a personality disorder is a serious issue. To be diagnosed with one you have to meet 5 out of the nine criteria and it has to negatively impact your work, love and family life.

Although narcissistic personality disorder is a very serious disorder, all of us possess these traits in varying degrees without having a negative impact on our lives. Some days we feel confident and strong while on other days we might feel adventurous or even melancholic and depressed. Our moods and traits often define what we wear.

Therefore someone with a narcissistic fashion style, will dress to impress and to be the center of attention. Having the best shoes or outfit is what they are after.Quality is more important that quantity. They want recognition. They are confident in what they wear and who they are.

Some of the traits of Narcissistic and histrionic styles overlap, for example, both seek attention. Histrionics would get attention by wearing bright colors and over dramatizations while narcissist will attract attention by making themselves the most important person in the room.
