Jamie Eason Live fit Trainer

Two weeks ago I started doing the Jamie Eason Live Fit Trainer. It is a free online program with diet suggestions and weight training moves on bodybuilders.com.

A lot of people have had brilliant results with this trainer as did I a few years ago when it came out. If you follow it to the T  you’ll lose weight, build muscles and be able to maintain your weight as long as you follow the eating guidelines. Jamie Eason doesn’t believe in cutting out an entire food group. She is also one of the only fitness models that stays fit all through the year while other fitness models let themselves go throughout the year and only work hard toward their fitness and health goals during competition season, which isn’t healthy at all.

I’ve been out of the gym for quite a while so starting with phase 1 of this trainer was ideal for me. It gets you back in the gym without killing you in the first 2 weeks. It is a great base builders and teaches you healthy habits to follow.

This is what the schedule for the first 2 weeks look like

Looking back

January 2015

On the 2nd of January 2015 we arrived in Korea. The weeks leading up to that was very stressful. We were coming to a country where we didn’t speak the language. We didn’t know what to expect. We didn’t know if the school would like us or whether they would send us back home. When we arrived someone from the agency was supposed to bring us to Seosan ( a little rural city in Korea) but instead he met us at the airport and threw us on a bus. The bus driver didn’t speak any English so we couldn’t even ask him where we were supposed to get off. Luckily he told us once we arrived in Seosan.

Then our director was supposed to pick us up from the bus terminal but no one was waiting for us. Our phone didn’t want to make any calls and we couldn’t find a pay phone either. After about an hour a young girl came to help us and phoned our director to come and get us.

On the way to Korea

The first few months were quite terrible. It was cold. We couldn’t communicate. We got lost a LOT. And we missed home.

In addition during the first few months we got sick all the time. I had terrible breakouts on my skin and I was loosing hair. We were also living in a crappy apartment in the ‘red light district’ and people were screaming and shouting until 4 o’clock in the morning.

The first time we went to Seoul we had to research for days how to get around and where to go. We visited each area on a different visit so as to not confuse ourselves too much.

6 months later.

Six months later we have negotiated with our boss to move into a better area. My husband’s parents were coming to visit us soon and we have started collecting some things for our new home. We have also been visiting with my brother who is also living in Korea.

Now

18 Months later I am glad to say that we are better able to navigate cities. We have even travelled to the other side of Korea with no help whatsoever. We are healthier and we can communicate with people even if we don’t speak Korean and they don’t speak English. We’ve been here for a little over  18 months and we’re planning to stay even longer. When we first left South Africa it was to create a better life for ourselves. The original plan didn’t work out as we hoped but we believe that we are here for a reason and that our path is already planned out for us.

What is in my makeup bag?

I’m a girl of simple taste in makeup. I usually wear natural looking makeup and lipstick.

On regular days I will generally just carry some lipstick and my purse in my bag, but when we go to Seoul for the day I will take some more makeup with. As a foreigner in Korea generally you travel quite far if you don’t live in one of the main metropolitan areas, therefore a backpack is much easier to wear than a normal handbag

3 Books on my bookshelf

I love reading although I don’t always have time for it. When I was a kid I didn’t enjoy reading at all. But then when I went to grade 8 my mom took us to the library and said that we HAVE to pick a book and read it. So that Summer I started my love affair with books.

Today’s topic for our 30 day Blogging Babes challenge we’re writing about 3 books on our book shelves. Since I’m currently living in Korea and didn’t bring any books with me I can only list the 3 books that I currently have on my bookshelf

  1. House Rules by Jodi Picoult

Its about a 17 year old boy with Autism (Asperger to be precise) and an intense interest in Crime investigation. Every time there is a crime in his town he is present to investigate the clues himself. Then there is a murder in his town and he is the prime suspect. The story deals with the trails and tribulations that families with Autistic children go through. It was a really interesting read and I enjoyed it so much that I bought some more books from Jodi Picoult.

2.The Death of Bees by Lisa O’Donnel

A book about two girls who’s parents are drug dealers. Their parents die over the Winter and they bury them in the back yard because they are scared that if the authorities find out about it, that they will be sent to a foster home and be separated. Its a story of how harsh life can be but also that there are some people who are willing to help us even if we did something wrong. It starts off kind of gruesome and I had to put the book down for a few days but I’m really glad that I ended up finishing it. As a final note, there is a lot of swearing in this book but it depicts the socioeconomic status that the 2 girls have within their society.

3. The Millenial (Series)

OK these are 3 separate books but I included them under one book 🙂

I have only watched the movie based on the book with Daniel Craig and I wanted to read the books but haven’t had the time yet. My sister in law bought me the whole series for Christmas and I’m planning to read them before the end of this year!!!
