Movies that you have to watch twice

A while ago my husband and I saw the watchMojo video about movies you should watch twice. We have already seen some of the movies but decided that we should see the ones that we haven’t seen yet.

Number one on the list was Momento. The movie is portrayed in reverse order. Its about a man who follows the clues to his wife’s murder. The protagonist however can’t create new memories and tattoos all the clues he gathers on his body in order to remember important details. From start to finish this movie is confusing and as you keep watching you feel like the protagonist, not knowing who to trust or where the clues will lead. It is definitely worth the watch

Best summer Romance Movies

List list includes some new and old movies from the last decade. They are some of the most beautiful love stories I’ve seen. I like these because they are not immediately predictable.

Labour Day

Starring Kate Winslet and Josh Brolin A story about a escaped convict who approaches a single mother and her 13 year old son. He stays with them for Labour day weekend until the trains start running in order for him to hop on a train and make his escape more permanent.

The Lake House

Starring Sandra Bullock and Keanu Reeves. A movie about 2 people who live in the same house during different times. They communicate by using a magical postbox outside the Lake house. They fall and love and decide to meet each other in the future when they are both in the same time.

Me before You

Starring Emilia Clarke and Sam Claflin. A story about a girl who starts to work for a family with a disabled son. He used to be able to walk , run, surf even “out Bond, James Bond” but then he was hit by a motorcycle and lost the use of all functions below his neck. It is a wonderful movie with a great plot and great acting. There are even some really interesting fashion choices.

Tarzan Review

My dad is a huge fan of Tarzan so inevitably he wanted to see the movie. I’ve never been a huge fan and to be honest when I saw the trailer it was more than a little disappointing. My first reason being that the whole trailer looked like it was computer animated. Furthermore I’ve seen pictures of Alexander Skarsgard and although he is said to have trained really hard and gained a lot of muscle mass some clips in the movie didn’t look authentic especially this one below, as he jumps down into the trees the shape of his back looks too animated.

Spoiler alert: Some spoilers to follow

Upon watching the movie I was pleasantly surprised. I sort of expected to see the original Tarzan movie plot, but instead the movie starts off 8 years after Tarzan was found in the jungle and brought to Britain. Tarzan is invited by the Belgium King to visit the Congo to see all the new schools he has build for the local tribes. After first rejecting he eventually goes. and that is where the adventure begins.

The story was interesting although I have to admit there was a kind of a lul in the middle of the movie where it felt like nothing was happening. The fight scenes were done really well and Tarzan fought like an ape, more with his arms than with his fists.

In addition the last half of the movie we get to see Alexander Skarsgard bare chested which is always a plus for us warmblooded ladies. He looks really great and he did really well as Tarzan.

My father was very impressed toovand he said the movie kept very close to the books except for the fact that in the books NO APE could beat Tarzan in a fight. I do however think the fact that he couldn’t beat his brother might be to show that Tarzan has been out of the jungle for too long…

I would recommend this movie as it is entertaining and a little bit different than what we are used to. These days I feel as if all the movies are the same thing over and over again, but maybe I’m too sensitised to blockbuster movies.

My husband on the other hand found the movie boring and he even fell asleep once or twice.

My multiple personalities

Today’s challenge is to post a picture of myself. Personally I think I’ve been narcissistic enough for one month so instead of posting a lovely ‘self-portrait’, I will post my many faces. I am an absolute Halloween freak and I love dressing up and playing the part, so without further ado here are some of my best and sometimes ugliest moments

  1. Korean Ghost
  2. A member of the band Kiss
  3. It started out as Alice in wonderland but after the make-up turned out to be something else…???
  4. A zombie
  5. Mrs Wannabe. We had a murder mystery party and I was one of the suspects
  6. Queen Akasha from Queen of the damned
