Plant inspired cupcakes

As you know I love flowers and flower arrangements. Since it’s Summer in some countries a lot of ladies will be having garden tea parties.

Therefore I have collected a few flower/plant inspired cupcakes to make your tea party more flowery, along with a great chilled garden tea I always use in summer when I have guests over.

Cupcakes

Chilled Garden Tea

MAKES 8

7 cups water
6 tea bags
1 1/2 cups sugar
1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice
1 1/2 cups peach nectar
1 cup vodka

1. Bring 4 cups of water to a boil then remove from heat and add tea bags. Let tea steep for about 5 minutes.

2. Remove tea bags and add sugar to the hot water. Stir until dissolved. Add remaining 3 cups water and stir to combine.

3. Pour tea mixture into large pitcher and stir in peach nectar, lemon juice and vodka. Chill thoroughly. Add fresh peach and lemon slices and serve over ice with peach garnish.

Whether inside or outside the wedding hall and reception should reflect the wild nature of a garden. This includes many flowers or draping to give the effect of a hidden garden

Decorating ideas should include lots of different colours.

Table arrangements

Depending on your own personal style you can choose one large arrangement per table or 3 vases of flowers. It is always important to remember to keep your arrangements in odd numbers as these appear more appealing to the eyes.

Choosing bridesmaid dresses for this theme can include light or dark colours of pink, purple, red, orange or green or any other floral pattern. A nice tough is flower garlands in their hair so they look like fairies in your secret garden of love

Not yet living the dream

One of my first jobs was in a flower shop. I started of as a florist in training and later became a branch manager at one of our stores. I absolutely love flowers and colours and it was my dream to one day have my own flower shop. As time went by I changed jobs and left my dream of owning a flower shop behind. Someday I would still like to have my own shop but maybe more as a retirement hobby. I still love flowers and regularly buy flowers to brighten my home, sometimes I buy real flowers and other times I get silk flowers.

I often look at flower shops for ideas for my future “flower shop”.

There are different ways that you can store your flowers, these include tin buckets, woven baskets ( with water tight containers inside) and glass vases.

I love the idea of floral arrangements on display, it gives you the chance to get creative ideas or to buy a ready made arrangement, especially if it’s for a special occasion like a dinner party at your home.
